Reliez Valley

This family of five sought to make their new house feel like home with family- and pet-friendly furniture, thoughtful updates, and a fresh coat of paint in select rooms. Their request to keep the existing trim color presented a creative challenge: the new wall colors needed to harmonize seamlessly with the trim while elevating the overall aesthetic.

As is often our approach, we began with rugs and artwork to guide the design direction. In the living room, we worked with an existing rug design and customized the wool colors to bring warmth and cohesion to the space.

The dining room’s wood plantation shutters limited natural light, and we saw this as a design opportunity. Rather than fight the shadows, we embraced them with a deep, rich blue paint color. This bold choice not only brought character to the dining room but also added drama to the adjacent entryway, setting the tone for the entire home.

Through intentional choices and a balance of functionality and select bold statements, we created a welcoming, personalized space for this family—proof that even small updates can make a big impact when done thoughtfully.
